Who We Recommend The Logan & Cove For:
- People looking for a pillow top – This bed comes with a pillow top designed to cushion your body without overheating. The pillow top allows sinkage, although the exact amount of sinkage depends on the firmness level you choose.
- Hot sleepers – Silk, Tencel® fibers, cooling gel, and individually-pocketed coils work together to promote enhanced temperature regulation and breathability.
- Couples – Enhanced motion control and reinforced edges gives couples room to spread out. The bed’s memory foam layers help absorb movement from restless partners, while the individually-wrapped coils isolate motion even more.
Who We Don’t Recommend The Logan & Cove For:
- Those looking for a traditional memory foam mattress – The Logan & Cove mattress features a coil system and lots of cooling technology, unlike the traditional warm hug offered by classic memory foam. However, there is some contouring and sinkage present, which some memory foam fans should enjoy.
- People who don’t like pillow tops – The Logan & Cove mattress has a pillow top, which means its surface is plush and cushioning. Although it offers many benefits, people who prefer a firmer mattress may not like how the pillow top contours around the body. Depending on your weight, it can make you feel like you’re sleeping “in” the mattress instead of “on” it.
First Impressions: Firmness & Feel
Firmness Scale: 4.5/10 (Slightly Soft, Medium Plush), 7/10 (Slightly Firm)
Please remember that firmness is a subjective characteristic and your shape will dictate how you experience a bed. A heavier person whose weight can more easily push through softer comfort and support layers may experience a bed as softer than a lightweight person. The way you are shaped could also play a role here. Consider your weight, shape, and size when evaluating firmness scores.
We measure mattress firmness on a 1-10 scale, with 1 being the most plush. The Logan & Cove comes in two firmness levels: Medium Plush and Luxury Firm. We gave the softer version of this bed a score of 4.5 out of 10, which should feel slightly softer than medium-firm to most shoppers.
While the exact feel depends on your body weight, most sleepers should find that the Medium-Plush option allows them to sink deeply into the mattress for greater pressure relief. We ranked the firmer model at a 7 out of 10, which most people should experience as slightly firm depending on your body weight.
How Does It Feel?
The surface should feel cool and smooth to the touch thanks to the silk blend and plush pillow top, so sleepers should feel soft support as they sink into the pillow top. Sleepers should feel nestled into a deeper cradle on the softer bed and more of a gentle cradle on the firm one.
The softer upper layers may take a little longer to respond to your movements, while the firmer lower layers reshape faster. This helps reduce body impressions as people move around on the mattress. However, because the base contains individually-wrapped coils, there is still a significant amount of bounce, although this will be more pronounced in the firmer model.
What We Like About the Logan & Cove
- The pillow top – The pillow top included in the Logan & Cove mattress sits on top of the mattress and uses a temperature-regulating silk blend to keep you cool and comfortable. This extra layer helps you sink into the mattress for deeper pressure relief, and also creates that ‘luxe’ feeling that many sleepers enjoy.
- The cooling features – The cooling effect of this mattress starts in its pillow top as its cover is made from the brand’s Natural Eucalyptus Fabric™, which features spandex, polyester, and Tencel®. There is also cooling gel inserted in the foam layer below the pillow top, while individually-wrapped coils leave plenty of room for airflow.
- Firmness options – The Logan & Cove mattress is available in two firmness options, allowing customers to choose based on their body weight and preferred sleeping position.
Our Logan & Cove Complaints
- It’s tall – Although the 14-inch profile is impressive, the Logan & Cove mattress can look a bit bulky. This is especially the case in smaller rooms and larger bed sizes, as the mattress can really take over the space.
- Responsive feel isn’t for everyone – This mattress’s coil base makes it highly responsive with a lot of bounce. Although this can work for many people, sleepers looking for a slow-moving mattress may want to look elsewhere.
Testing the Logan & Cove Mattress: How it Performed
We tested the Logan & Cove to see how the pillow top and the rest of the construction cater to different sleeping positions and body weights. In addition, we also tested for pressure relief, cooling, motion transfer, and other preference-based features.
Sleeping Positions for Different Body Types
Logan & Cove recommends a weight limit of 300 pounds per sleeper, with a limit of 600 pounds total for the entire bed. This means the mattress can support heavier sleepers, but you should keep in mind its exact firmness may feel differently based on your body weight (i.e. heavyweight sleepers should sink more while lightweight sleepers should stay more on top of the mattress).
Side Sleepers
- Lightweight Sleepers – Lightweight side sleepers can opt for either firmness level since the pillow top allows enough cradling to relieve the pressure in the hips and shoulders. However, side sleepers under 130 pounds may experience both models as firmer.
- Average Weight Sleepers – Average-weight side sleepers should sink deeper into the pillow top, but the coils underneath should do a good job of keeping the spine aligned. Those closer to 230 pounds may prefer the firmer version of this bed for greater support.
- Heavyweight Sleepers – Heavy side sleepers are likely better off with the luxury firm option which should offer deep pressure relief without sacrificing support. However, those who weigh over 230 pounds may find that they sink too much into this mattress.
Back Sleepers
- Lightweight Sleepers – Lightweight back sleepers should like the contouring feel, especially in the lower back area. They won’t sink as much and should get sufficient support for proper spine alignment.
- Average Weight Sleepers – Average-weight back sleepers might want to consider the firmer model because it offers more support while still contouring to areas of pressure.
- Heavyweight Sleepers – Heavy back sleepers should also go for the Luxury Firm model. They should still sink deep into this model’s pillow top, which is good for those who prefer to be snuggled in their mattress.
Stomach Sleepers
- Lightweight Sleepers – Lightweight stomach sleepers should like how the Logan & Cove mattress feels in this position. The pillow top should allow just enough sinkage while still keeping the body aligned.
- Average Weight Sleepers – Average-weight stomach sleepers may do better with the firmer model as it should prevent excess sinkage. However, those who weigh closer to 230 pounds may want something even firmer since stomach sleepers need reinforced support for spine alignment.
- Heavyweight Sleepers – Although this bed can hold 300 pounds per person, it may not be firm enough for stomach sleepers over 230 pounds. These sleepers need plenty of support to keep the hips raised and spine aligned, and this bed’s firmer model may not hold up well due to the cushioning pillow top.
Pressure Relief & Pain
The Logan & Cove mattress should do a good job at relieving pressure as it has a cushioning pillow top that allows plenty of sinkage. The pillow top contours your body and cushions the most sensitive areas, such as your shoulders, hips, and knees. On top of that, you can choose between two firmness options depending on your body weight, preferred sleeping position, and level of pressure relief you seek.
Back Pain – People with back pain should consider both firmness options, depending on the sleeping position they prefer. Those who struggle with back pain but like sleeping on their back should try the firmer model, as it allows better support in the lumbar area. The pillow top contours the body to relieve pressure, while the coils ensure your spine is in a neutral position.
Hip Pain – The Logan & Cove mattress should be a great match for those struggling with hip pain. The cushioning pillow top is comfortable around the hips, and allows maximum pressure and pain relief even for side sleepers. However, lightweight side sleepers with hip pain may want to go for the medium-plush model for deeper pressure relief.
Shoulder Pain – Shoulder pain is another common issue side sleepers can struggle with. The Logan & Cove mattress may help relieve some of that pain by cushioning the shoulders while still supporting the body in proper spine alignment to prevent more tension from building up in this area.
Support
Although the Logan & Cove mattress is seemingly soft with its pillow top, it offers plenty of support if you look underneath this initial layer. We also want to note that the Luxury Firm model naturally provides a higher level of support than the softer option.
No matter which firmness level you go with, though, this bed’s support system starts with its 2-inch Supportive Eco Foam layer that sits under the pillow top. This ensures spine alignment in different positions by not letting the body sink too far down into the coils. Next, comes 8 inches of individually-wrapped coils which push back against your body, providing support. Finally, a layer of foam surrounds the edges of the mattress to reinforce the perimeter.
Motion Transfer
Despite the ample bounce provided by the spring system, the pocketed coils work to isolate motion which helps prevent movement from traveling through the bed. The foams also absorb motion, further helping with motion isolation. This should make the Logan & Cove a great choice for couples, as they are unlikely to feel each other’s movements as they change positions.
Temperature Regulation / Cooling
The Logan & Cove mattress has excellent cooling properties, so it’s a good match for hot sleepers looking for a cooling mattress. The pillow top has a cooling cover made from Tencel® fibers combined with eucalyptus and silk which help cool the surface. In addition, gel-infused memory foam in the pillow top helps draw body heat away from the bed’s surface.
This mattress is also a hybrid which makes it naturally cooler than an all-foam mattress. The coil base helps promote airflow through the construction, preventing any heat build-up in the upper foam layers.
Performance for Couples
Couples should like how the Logan & Cove mattress feels in different sleeping positions. The Luxury Firm model has a more universal feel that should fit a wider range of sleepers, plus it’s more supportive which is ideal when two sleepers are sharing a mattress.
This bed also performed well in bounce and motion isolation which works nicely for sexually-active couples and those who bunk with restless sleepers. There’s also sufficient edge support thanks to the coils and reinforced foam in the perimeter. Overall, it should be a good mattress for couples looking for a well-rounded bed that can accommodate their needs.

Preference-based Features
Multiple Firmness Options
When shopping for the Logan & Cove mattress, you have a choice between Medium Plush and Luxury Firm. This gives you the option to choose the best fit for you based on your body type, weight, and preferred sleeping position. Both models have the same construction, including a pillow top that allows a good balance of pressure relief and support.
Hand-Crafted Design
Evey Logan & Cove mattress is hand-crafted and finished with maximum care to ensure quality, durability, and luxury. This attention to detail makes it a high-quality mattress that should hold up well over the years.
Adjustable Base Compatible
This bed is compatible with an adjustable base, but the company recommends you use a frame with a solid, paneled surface. Hospital bed frames are not recommended.
Construction: What’s Inside the Logan & Cove?
This mattress has a unique construction, with a pillow top visibly separated from the rest of the mattress. The pillow top is attached, which means you can’t remove it, but it has a separate construction outside of the mattress itself.
At 14 inches tall, the Logan & Cove mattress is available in two firmness options, although both have the same construction and height. The only difference is in the feel of each layer.
- The first layer is a 3-inch pillow top that starts off with a Tencel® cover made with breathable eucalyptus fibers. The inside of the pillow top contains a silk blend for a smoother, softer feel, while the rest of the pillow top holds an inch of cooling gel foam for temperature regulation and Eco-Foam for pressure relief.
- Directly underneath the pillow top lies a 2-inch supportive Eco-Foam layer infused with natural soy, designed to offer proper spinal alignment and comfortable support.
- The bottom layer holds an 8-inch individually-pocketed coil base. Supportive and bouncy, this coil system also helps isolate movement so that people are not disturbed by restless partners as they sleep.
- The perimeter contains Engineered Edge Support Foam to help stabilize the edges of this bed. This helps shoppers to roll right up to the edge of their bed without feeling as if they might fall off.
Unboxing & Off-Gassing
The Logan & Cove arrives compressed in a box which makes it easy to carry from your door to the bedroom, although you may want some help as the box can be heavy. After you’ve positioned the mattress in its new home, open the box and place the bag on your mattress frame before cutting it. Once you cut the plastic wrap, the mattress should unroll on the frame. Remove the packaging and allow the bed to decompress, which should take up to 24 hours.
You may notice a slight odor coming from the mattress, which is normal for bed-in-a-box products that contain foam. However, this off-gassing smell is harmless and should be gone by the time the mattress decompresses.
Certifications
- Eco-Friendly Certifications – The foams in this bed are CertiPUR-US® certified. CertiPUR-US® is a third-party program that ensures the foams meet rigorous health and safety standards. This means they don’t contain harmful substances like ozone depleters, PBDEs, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates. They should also have low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions.
Coupons, Trials, Warranties, and Shipping
- Shipping – Shipping is free to most parts of Canada, with a small fee required for some remote locations.
- Trial – Logan & Cove offers a 120-night trial with this mattress, which should be enough time for you to test how the bed fits your needs and preferences.
- Warranty – The company offers a 15-year warranty.
- Return Policy – Returns are free within the 120-night trial. However, keep in mind that the company requires you to keep the original plastic packaging the mattress came in.

Overall Summary
Canadian-based brand Logan & Cove knew what they were doing with the design of their flagship mattress. With a cooling pillow top, supportive construction, and two firmness options, this mattress is a great option for sleepers who want a luxury-feeling mattress at a more affordable price.
Side Sleepers
4/5
Side sleepers should enjoy the Medium-Plush model, especially those who weigh under 130 pounds. The pillow top allows enough sinkage for pressure relief, which is important since most of your weight is concentrated across a narrow surface when you sleep on your side.
Back Sleepers
4/5
Back sleepers can try both the softer and firmer version of the Logan & Cove, depending on their body shape and weight. The mattress does a good job of evenly distributing your weight across the surface, so you shouldn’t feel pressure or pain in the lower back area.
Stomach Sleepers
3/5
Stomach sleepers need plenty of support to keep the hips aligned with the rest of the body. The Logan & Cove in Luxury Firm should do a good job of preventing the hips from sinking in, while the softer model is likely too soft. Also, those who weigh over 200 may want an even firmer bed.
Combination Sleepers
5/5
Combination sleepers should find this bed comfortable as it’s a good match for most sleeping positions. The Logan & Cove also adapts to your body well, responding quickly to changes in position. It offers plenty of bouncy, which should make transitions effortless.
Couples
5/5
The Logan & Cove mattress is a good match for couples as it has checked all the boxes for this group: bounce, motion isolation, and edge support. The bed isolates motion well so that partners don’t disturb one another while tossing and turning, while the bouncy design should benefit sexually-active couples.
Heavy Sleepers
3/5
Significantly heavier people may find even the firmest model from Logan & Cove too soft. Side and back sleepers closer to 230 pounds should be okay and find enough support, but stomach sleepers are likely to sink too deeply into the pillow top. As a result, you may bottom out to the coils.
Lightweight Sleepers
5/5
People under 130 pounds should find the softer version of the Logan & Cove comfortable in all sleeping positions. The pillow top allows just enough sinkage, but should also do a good job of keeping the body aligned when on the stomach.
Average Weight Sleepers
5/5
Average-weight sleepers should like both firmness options, depending on their exact weight. Those closer to 130 pounds should go for the softer one, while heavier people may want to try the firmer Logan & Cove. Either way, you should experience a balance of support and pressure relief.
Overall Value
4/5
Logan & Cove handcrafts each of their beds, offering quality, durability, and exceptional comfort. The mattress packs a lot of value as it’s also shipped for free within Canada. Shoppers can also count on a 120-night trial and a 15-year warranty, which is a bit longer than the industry standard which usually limits sleepers to just 10 years of protection.
Our Verdict
If you live in Canada and are looking for a high-quality mattress, you should consider the Logan & Cove bed. This mattress’s hybrid construction helped it perform well in areas like support, pressure relief, and cooling.
After testing the Logan & Cove mattress, we think it’s an ideal match for side and back sleepers, although some stomach sleepers may find it comfortable. Those who love the feeling of a hotel mattress should enjoy this bed’s pillow top, which helps you sink while still keeping you on top of the mattress.
The one group we don’t recommend this mattress for are heavyweight sleepers. While some heavyweight sleepers may feel supported, stomach sleepers are better off with a firmer mattress altogether.
